Winter Respite care
This Winter, we have residential respite beds available at Bowbrook, our state of the art dementia-specialist residential care home in the bustling, canal-side village of Fradley in Staffordshire.
Are you looking for short-term tailored care this Winter?
It isn’t always easy for carers to find the time to relax or to seek extra support to lighten the load. At Bowbrook, one of our Dementia Centres of Excellence, we offer specialist care and support in first-class facilities for people living with dementia and complex needs.
As the winter season approaches, the challenges of caring for a loved one with dementia may intensify. The colder weather, shorter days, and potential isolation can exacerbate their symptoms, while your own well-being may suffer from the constant demands of caregiving.
Here's where winter respite care steps in to provide much-needed support for both you and your loved one.
- Rejuvenate Yourself: Take a break from the constant demands of caregiving and recharge your physical and emotional energy. Engage in activities you enjoy, reconnect with loved ones, and rediscover your own passions.
- Ensure Your Loved One's Comfort: Our specialised respite care facilities provide a safe and nurturing environment tailored to the unique needs of individuals with dementia. Experienced caregivers will provide personalised attention, engage in meaningful activities, and foster a sense of community.
- Maintain Your Loved One's Quality of Life: Winter can be particularly challenging for people with dementia. Our respite care programs offer a variety of activities to stimulate their minds and bodies, promote social interaction, and combat boredom.
- Enhance Your Bonding: When you return from your respite break, you'll find your loved one refreshed and engaged, and your relationship will be stronger than ever.
You can read about Janette's experience below:
"My husband, Peter was diagnosed with dementia 9 years ago. His condition rapidly deteriorated in 2022 to the extent that I, as his wife and sole carer, needed some periods of respite. Amber Wood was recommended to me as a dementia care home and proved to be a life saver for me. Peter was treated with respect and I felt that nothing was too much trouble for the staff to deal with, both at my request or his. When it was apparent, sadly, to both myself and our family that Peter's specific needs had become too much to manage, I was relieved that a permanent place became available at Amber Wood for Peter."
