We’re finalists in two categories in the Housing with Care Awards

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for not one, but two national Housing with Care Awards.

Care Talk Magazine’s Housing with Care Awards celebrate excellence and diversity in the care and support sector, pay tribute to the frontline workforce and raise awareness of the different housing and retirement models to suit all needs.

Our Activities Coordinator Mark Phillips is a finalist in the Activities Coordinator Award category.

Mark was nominated by Katie Matthews, our Registered Manager at Walsall Extra Care.

Katie said: “Mark has been such a great support to both of my extra care services.

“Coming out of lockdown our customers were very isolated and were apprehensive about getting back into the normal activities that they used to do.

“Mark has helped to build the community within both services back up and it is now such an enjoyable place to be. Both services now have fully functioning games equipment too including pool table, darts boards etc.

“Our customers have really benefited from Marks support, he’s great!”

Our Westend Care Team are finalists in the Care Team Independent Award category.

The team were nominated by Louise Chamberlain, our Registered manager at West End Village.

Louise said: “I nominated my care team because when I became manager, I had some staffing issues and I had to recruit nearly a full new team.

“The team now are amazing, and I am so proud of them. They work as a team and pull together to cover each other. They all go over and above for all of our customers and the non-care customers as well.

“They are simply the best!”

Our Chief Operating Officer Maxine Espley MBE said: “I’m so pleased that we’ve been shortlisted in two categories for these important sector awards.

“I’m very proud of the amazing work our teams deliver, and I am delighted that our care colleagues have been recognised in this way. These examples just highlight the excellent work and colleagues we have at GreenSquareAccord.

“I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for both Mark and our Westend Care Team”.

The awards take place on Friday 9 June 2023 in London.
