We’re helping Gloucestershire Bundles provide clothing for children

Gloucestershire Bundles

Gloucestershire Bundles, a charity that provides clothing for children from newborn to 16 years old in Gloucester, has received a £1,000 grant from our Community Impact Fund.

In 2013 the charity began providing items for children up to age 5, but within a few years the upper age increased, and now they provide clothing for all children and teens up to age 16. They have also found the numbers of referrals have increased, so they applied to our Community Impact Fund for a grant to help them.

Our Community Impact Fund is an initiative designed to support customer groups, local charities, voluntary and community groups and organisations operating within our service areas. Through the fund we offer grants of up to £1,000 to projects that benefit our customers and the communities we work in.

Our Community Investment and Social Value Lead Sian Every said: “It’s great to be able to support our local communities through our Community Impact Fund.

“Gloucestershire Bundles are a very important charity, they rely on donations of good condition clothing from the general public, but in the last few years they have increasingly had to buy more clothing items as donations have fallen, but the numbers of referrals have increased with the cost-of-living crisis.

“We have over 1,000 GSA properties across Gloucestershire as well as our Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service (GDASS), and it’s likely this charity will be supporting a number of our customers at some point. We’re so glad that we can help provide them with the funds they need to continue to provide for young children and families across Gloucestershire.”

Susan Scothern from Gloucestershire Bundles said: “We were delighted to receive this funding, as it has enabled us to go out and buy tops, sweatshirts, leggings and other items in a number of different sizes, ready to fill our bundles for children in Gloucestershire who would otherwise have to go without.”
