LoCaL Homes’s Samlet Road development recognised for construction excellence

The Samlet Road development in Swansea, which is being delivered in partnership between LoCaL Homes, Castell Group and housing association Caredig, has been shortlisted for the Project of the Year Award at the Constructing Excellence in Wales (CEW) awards.

Transforming a former site of a car dealership, the Samlet Road development will comprise 35 high quality, EPC-A rated social homes. The scheme includes a mix of one and two bed apartments, and two and three bedroom houses therefore catering to a variety of local housing need.

Development and design of each of the homes is to a high standard and specification, with sustainable features to reduce energy costs for tenants.

Judges for the CEW  Awards 2024 received a written entry for the Samlet Road development for the Project of the Year and it is now up to the delivery partners on the scheme to make their pitch for the top prize. 

On Tuesday 16 April representatives from LoCaL Homes and Castell Group will give a presentation about the Samlet Development which will account for 50 per cent of the total marks which can be awarded. The presenters will then be put through their paces by the award judges with a question-and-answer session immediately following the presentation.

The winners in each category of the CEW awards will be announced at a special ceremony on Friday 14 June at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport.
