If a fire breaks out inside your home or building
- Leave your home and close the door behind you. Don’t stop to collect personal belongings or return to your flat until it is confirmed you are safe to do so.
- If the alarm isn’t already on, operate the nearest fire alarm call point to alert other people in your block.
- Leave using the nearest emergency exit. Never use a lift.
- Call 999 and let the fire service know.
- If your block has a designated assembly point, head there as soon as you can. This will help the fire service make sure everyone is safe.
