Festive hamper donation brings cheer to children at Christmas!
Our Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service (GDASS) and Places of Safety team have been overwhelmed by the incredible generosity of local charity Caring for Communities and People (CCP). The festive hampers they have donated, filled with delicious treats and gifts for children, are now making their way to the people and families we support.
GDASS provides essential support to Gloucestershire residents aged 16 and over who are at risk of or experiencing domestic abuse. The Places of Safety in Gloucestershire, which we manage, offer temporary accommodation to adults and children who have experienced domestic abuse, providing them with a secure environment until a permanent and suitable housing solution is found.
Our Places of Safety Manager Samantha Cowlin shared her heartfelt gratitude for the donation: “We are very grateful to CCP for all these donations and the compassion we know that underpins their work.
“It is our privilege to share these charitable gifts with those experiencing emotional and challenging circumstances, which are often exacerbated at this time of year. To be able to gift a family at any time, especially in this holiday period, means a great deal to our teams.
“It is true that the impact of kindness and the act of giving very often has a positive impact on both the giver and the recipient.”
CCP is a local charity that exists to prevent the causes and reduce the effects of homelessness, family breakdown and exclusion. Their commitment to supporting the community is evident in this thoughtful donation, which will undoubtedly bring joy to those in need during the festive season.
