Summer comes early to Showell Court
The weather has been hit and miss so far in April, but customers and colleagues at Showell Court recently enjoyed some early Summertime fun.
Showell Court, one of our extra care facilities located in Wolverhampton, was transformed into a seaside resort with customers invited to join a summer party on Tuesday 18 April.
At the event, customers could tuck into delicious Caribbean-inspired cuisine such as:
- Paella with peri-peri marinated chicken
- Jerk chicken drumsticks with rice and peas
- Garlic and herb naan with pickled cabbage and garlic mayo
During the party summer anthems from yesteryear were played and residents could enjoy holiday-themed nostalgia which prompted memories, for some, of holidays from days gone by.
More than 40 people attended the Summer Party at Showell Court including our customers and their family members alongside learners from the Skills for Life unit situated at Showell Court.
Our Catering and Nutrition Manager, Paul Bromfield, said “It was great to see so many customers at the Summer Party enjoying tasty dishes, supplied by Creed Food Service, and taking part in the beach-themed fun. The music was playing and everyone seemed to have a super time. It is always positive to see customers socialising and taking part in new activities.”
