We held a community event at our Clent Way scheme in Birmingham last week, following the start of a project that will deliver additional social homes on the site.
The event provided an opportunity for customers to meet and engage with our construction partner, Harper Group, as well as our colleagues.
The event made the most of the sunshine, with a selection of fun games, face painting and glitter tattoos to keep the children entertained, as well as snacks and refreshments for everyone to enjoy.
Richard Green, our Housing Officer, said: “I would like to thank Harper Group for following up on their social value commitments and supporting the estate day on Clent Way.
“Our construction partner donated three pop-up gazebos and three folding tables, and ensured that plans of the finished project were available for customers to view.
“I would also like to thank our colleagues, whose hard work helped to make the event a success.”
The first stage of construction saw disused garages demolished and the site cleared to make way for new social housing.

The disused garages were demolished at Clent Way earlier this year
Once complete, our Clent Way scheme will provide a total of 12 homes, all of which will be let for a social rent.
The development will comprise:
- Eight two-bedroom houses
- Two three-bedroom houses
- Two one-bedroom bungalows
We currently own and manage 2,210 homes across the Birmingham City Council area, including the existing 136 apartments and houses at Clent Way.
