We’re proud to have awarded grants totalling £3,770 through our Community Impact Fund to two local charities supporting families in Wiltshire.
We own and manage more than 8,000 homes in the Wiltshire Council local authority area and have recently funded two projects that aim to support families across the county.
HEALS of Malmesbury
We’ve awarded a grant of £1,770 to HEALS, a social welfare charity based in Malmesbury, to support its summer holiday activity programme.
Our grant contributed towards its residential camp for children aged 8 to 12, Camp Wilderness, and helped fund travel costs for three-day family trips during the summer holidays.
At camp, children had valuable opportunities to develop social skills, build friendships and learn outdoor skills, while spending time away from screens and their usual home environment.
Chair of Trustees for HEALS Cllr Gavin Grant: "This very generous grant enabled more children of families in GSA homes to enjoy exciting times at this year's summer camps. It also paid for the coaches that got them and other young people to all our summer events safely."
HEALS provides professional advocacy, practical support and a range of community events for low-income families.
Kalum House, our Housing Officer, was instrumental in connecting HEALS with our Community Investment and Social Value team and supporting the charity to make a successful application to our Community Impact Fund.
Families Out Loud
We’ve awarded a grant of £2,000 to Families Out Loud, a charity that provides access to 1-1 and group support for families affected by a loved one’s addiction.
Our funding will support the delivery of one-to-one counselling sessions, contributing towards the resources and costs required to provide this vital service.
The charity offers families a safe, confidential space in which to explore their emotions and experiences. This helps them build emotional resilience and develop practical strategies to manage challenging family situations.
Through our Community Impact Fund, we offer grants of up to £2,000 a year to resident groups, community projects and local charities. The fund is supported by social value contributions from our suppliers.
