We awarded £51,467 through our Community Impact Fund during the 2025-26 financial year, more than double the £20,542 awarded last year.
Due to an increase in donations from some of our suppliers as part of their social value commitments, we increased the maximum grant available from £1,000 to £2,000 per project.
Our Community Impact Fund is designed to support customer groups, charities, voluntary and community groups. Through the fund, we offer grants to projects that benefit our customers and the neighbourhoods they live in.
The fund has a particular focus on helping GSA customers to develop financial and employment skills, improve digital inclusion, and promote health and wellbeing.

Over the past year, we funded 29 projects, including:
- Wellbeing with Emil, a men’s mental health initiative in South Birmingham.
- It’s a Family Thing, family activity sessions in Wolverhampton.
- Youth Adventure Trust, outdoor activities for disadvantaged teenagers in Wiltshire.
- Purposeful Active Living, exercise classes for older adults in Walsall.
- Breakthru, digital empowerment training to women in Wednesbury.
- Rudloe Community Association, to support their food bank and community cafe.
- Oxford Hospitals Charity, to refurbish the garden at Oxford Cancer Care Centre in Headington.
- The Folk of Gloucester, community craft sessions for a support group of all ages.
- SENAID, a special educational needs advocacy group in Hall Green, Birmingham.
- Active Redditch Community Hub, a football summer scheme for children in Redditch.
- Assisted Reading for Children, a literary charity for primary schools in Oxfordshire.

Some of the biggest donations this year came from Jewson Partnership Solutions, SMS Environmental, Birmingham Drain Services and Rexel.
Sian Every, our Community and Investment and Social Value Lead, said:
“It is fantastic to see our Community Impact Fund continue to grow - supporting a diverse range of community organisations and awarding more grants each year. We are grateful to the GSA Customer Panel for judging the applications and to our supply chain partner for their contributions to the funding pot. Their support strengthens the impact we can make together.”
