We’ve received a £4,543.92 donation to our Community Impact Fund from SMS Environmental, as part of their social value commitment to us.
SMS deliver our Legionella Risk Assessments, Periodic Inspections and Remedial Works, and training sessions to GSA colleagues. We have built a valuable, long-term relationship with SMS and the donation follows an £8,597 rebate from them in 2025.
The donation has fully funded three new Community Impact Fund projects.
Emmaus Oxford - £2,000
Emmaus is a charity working to tackle homelessness in Oxfordshire. Our donation will go towards their Resettlement Support project, which furnishes homes for people needing support, including refugees, homeless people and vulnerable families fleeing domestic violence. They provide starter packs of furniture, white goods and essentials for free, to help people begin to rebuild their lives in their new homes.
Active Redditch Community Hub - £1,488
ARCH work to improve community access to physical activity for low-income families in Redditch. They particularly focus on early intervention for young people who are at risk of falling into anti-social behaviour. Our donation will fund two hours of sporting activity a week for young people over the summer holidays, primarily a football club. We funded a similar project with ARCH in 2025 which was highly successful and helped to build lasting friendships and community support.
River Warriors - £900
River Warriors are a group of environmental volunteers in Calne, Wiltshire. They provide outdoor activities for local children and their families, that are designed to promote the importance of our natural environment and improve their local community. Our funding will help them to improve the area surrounding Abberd Brook, including a footpath, orchard and wildflower planting.
In addition to the donations, staff at SMS will be volunteering at our Rosemary Court scheme in Oxford this September, painting and repairing planters in the communal garden. Residents will be joining the day and a grant from our Internal Micro Fund will be used to purchase tools, plants and refreshments.

Our Community Impact Fund is an initiative to support our customers, community groups and local charities. Grants of up to £2,000 are available to benefit the neighbourhoods we operate in. The fund is made possible thanks to donations made by some of our suppliers, as part of their social value delivery commitments.
