On Saturday 30 August, we joined Wiltshire Council and over 100 residents in Chippenham at the Queen’s East Community Fun Day.
The event provided a great opportunity for some of our Locality 4 colleagues to set up a stall and meet our customers face to face to discuss the issues they are facing in Chippenham.

45 residents visited our stall, of which 25 were GSA customers. Our team got to have some insightful and interesting conversations, coming away with helpful feedback and new ideas to action.
We held an interactive session where residents suggested more community activities and events; better play and sport provision; and outdoor activities for children and teenagers.
Donna Hodsoll, our Head of Customer Engagement and Investment, said:
“It was fantastic to meet so many residents in Chippenham to discuss their ideas for improving the local area.
The Locality Team are looking at how we can work in partnership with Wiltshire Council to utilise the Locality Fund and the Community Impact Fund for neighbourhood improvements.”
GSA colleagues also had the opportunity to speak with Cllr Kathryn MacDermid, Chippenham Mayor 2025/26. Kathryn was very interested in hearing about our Community Impact Fund and will be helping us to promote it to valuable local community groups in Chippenham.
The Community Fun Day also had free, family-friendly activities, including a circus, games, children’s activities, a raffle, a plant and seed swap, and refreshments.

Despite the cooler temperatures and a few showers, the event was still a great success and one we hope to attend again next year.
