We’re proud to be supporting Community Safety Education CIC again, following positive feedback from our donation to their Moneywise project in early 2025.
Moneywise Financial Awareness for Young People is a scheme that delivers financial literacy training in schools to pupils aged 11-16. Its preventative approach aims to combat the rise of debt, poverty and gambling issues in the UK, educating children from a young age to equip them for a financially responsible future.
Community Safety Education CIC particularly targets schools in the top 10% most deprived areas in England, to provide the next generation with essential money management skills, reducing potential future stress and mental health burdens.
We previously made a donation towards their scheme in Melksham, Wiltshire and have now partnered with them again to support training at Tudor Grange Academy and Trinity High School in Redditch, Worcestershire. We have approximately 600 GSA homes in the area and many of these families have children attending the two schools who will directly benefit from our funding.
The project aims to reach up to 800 pupils across the two schools, delivering 30 sessions, specialist resources, lesson plans and worksheets.
Callam Smith, Project Manager at Community Safety Education, said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the support from GSA, which will directly support the young people we work with.
“Technology blurs the line between gaming and gambling, and in an era where it’s easier than ever to ‘buy now and pay later’ online, it’s crucial that young people learn how to navigate these risks early on.
“For many, this is their first opportunity to talk about money in a meaningful way. Through relatable and contemporary examples and interactive sessions, the Moneywise project encourages responsible habits and helps young people to feel more confident and open when discussing finances.”
The funding is part of our Community Impact Fund, which grants up to £2,000 towards charities, volunteer projects and resident groups that benefit our customers and the areas they live in. The fund is made possible thanks to generous social value donations from some of GSA’s suppliers.
