We are delighted to announce that today Manny Lewis and Martin Tiplady OBE have joined our Board.

Our Board helps to set our strategic direction and works with our Executive Team to ensure we are held to account for the overall performance of the organisation and compliance with regulation and legislation. The Board also helps to ensure risks to the organisation are understood and managed, and assists with safeguarding assets, finances, customers and our colleagues.

Coming to us with a background in change management, organisational development, service redesign, urban regeneration, executive coaching and partnership working, Manny Lewis brings a wealth of experience to our Board.

Having held several senior leadership roles across the public sector and local government, Manny has extensive governance and stakeholder management experience.

Manny also has a strong grounding in our sector having served as Chair of Habinteg Housing Association’s Board for more than seven years.

Commenting on his appointment, Manny said: “Earlier in my career I worked for Birmingham City Council so it is great to return to my old stomping ground.

“I am thrilled to be joining GSA at such an exciting time for the organisation which is delivering real change through its 2023-28 business strategy: Simpler, Stronger, Better.”

Joining Manny on our Board is Martin Tiplady OBE. With a distinguished career in Human Resources (HR) spanning four decades, Martin is regularly named as one of the leading HR figures in the UK.

Between 2001-2011 Martin held the post of Director of Human Resources at the Metropolitan Police. Towards the end of his tenure at The Met, Martin was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2010 for services to HR and Policing. He now leads a HR and Management Consultancy.

Martin Tiplady OBE said: “I have always worked with or near to housing associations having started my HR career in the sector during the 1980s. Some of my company clients now are social housing providers.

“I found the nine years I spent as Senior Independent Director at Midland Heart to be rewarding and I am delighted to now be able to contribute towards the important work of GSA.”
