We are delighted to announce that Gail Teasdale and Ash Fox will be joining our Board.

Having trained as an accountant, Gail has worked for both commercial and not for profit organisations. Gail brings to our Board a wealth of experience of working in our sector at the highest levels having most recently been employed as Chief Executive at fellow housing association Broadacres and is currently serving on the Board of the National Housing Federation.

Reflecting on her appointment to our Board, Gail said “Working in our sector is not without its challenges but it is very rewarding to see the positive impact which housing providers can have on the lives of our customers. I am delighted to be able to contribute to the delivery of GSA’s Simpler, Stronger, Better business strategy."

Joining Gail on our Board is Ash Fox, Managing Director of Student Roost.

Prior to her current role, Ash worked for fellow housing associations Peabody and Bromford in senior leadership positions. In her career to date, Ash has worked in customer-focused roles at some of the UK’s best-known companies such as RAC, The AA and Home Serve. Throughout her career, Ash has led major transformation programmes focused on improving customer experience, strengthening compliance, and enhancing revenue management, delivering measurable gains in satisfaction, safety, and financial performance.

Ash said: “GSA’s commitment to simplifying and strengthening its business, improving the customer offer, and investing in existing homes reflects a thoughtful and purposeful approach to becoming an even stronger landlord at a time of significant sector challenge. I’m really looking forward to learning more about the organisation, meeting the Board members, and connecting with the rest of the team.”

Our Board helps to set our strategic direction and works with our Executive Team to ensure we are held to account for the overall performance of the organisation and compliance with regulation and legislation. The Board also helps to ensure risks to the organisation are understood and managed, and helps to safeguard assets, finances, customers and our colleagues.

Commenting on the successful search for new board members , our Chief Executive Ruth Cooke said: “It’s great to welcome both Gail and Ash to our Board who both bring a wealth of experience in social housing and other sectors with them. Our two new Board members have a deep understanding of the challenges facing housing providers and will contribute greatly to the work of GSA.”

“Our board helps set our overall strategy, whilst monitoring our performance, service delivery and financial viability. I’m really looking forward to working closely with both our new recruits.”

Gail and Ash will join GSA’s board on Wednesday 25 March
