The starting location for our new project has been confirmed, with Mill Street residents being the first to benefit.

This new project focuses on upgrading some of our homes with the aim of making these properties more appealing, reducing the number of empty homes, and helping customers to feel safer in their immediate surroundings.

By April, the following works are due to be completed in the shared areas of our apartment blocks on Mill Street:

  • New door entry systems installed
  • Better internal and external lighting fitted
  • Fresh paint in communal areas
  • New vinyl flooring laid replacing old carpets
  • Updated signage throughout the communal areas
  • Improvements made to outside spaces, including railings and rubbish facilities

Ben Taylor, our Director of Homes and Communities said: “I am delighted to announce that our customers living on Mill Street will be the first to see the positive impact of this project with a suite of works planned to improve the communal areas.”

“As well as investing in Mill Street, we want to work with our customers so that they feel safer in their homes and foster a greater sense of pride in the local area."

Before Christmas, colleagues surveyed our customers living on Mill Street to hear their views and involve them in decisions about redecorating. Their feedback is shaping the changes being made.
