We’re delighted to announce that LoCaL Homes’ housing project in Coventry has been shortlisted for the Building Project of the Year and the Residential Property of the Year Award at the Constructing Excellence West Midlands Awards 2025.
The Constructing Excellence West Midlands Awards 2025 are recognised across the West Midlands built environment as the biggest and brightest celebration of best practice. They are a clear demonstration of the core strength of construction in the West Midlands and the desire and commitment to deliver buildings, housing, infrastructure, and facilities of all kinds in a collaborative and sustainable manner.
The shortlisted project highlights LoCaL Homes’ commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable housing solutions in partnership with Excelsior Land and housing association Citizen.
The housing project in Coventry comprises of 19 properties at eight sites across the city including Whoberley, Stoke Aldermoor, Bell Green, Holbrooks and Cheylesmore.
The homes are being built using timber frames built in the LoCaL Homes factory in Walsall and are being transported to the sites in Coventry where they are then assembled and built by Excelsior Land.

“Our off-site manufactured Eco-200 timber frame solutions, complete with brick slips, reduce construction time on site and produce less waste when compared to traditional building methods. This brings both environmental benefits and results in quicker handovers. The future occupants will be paying, on average, lower fuel bills thanks to the thermal-efficiency of our fabric-first approach.

The winners of the Constructing Excellence West Midlands Awards 2025 will be announced on Thursday 1 May 2025 at the Edgbaston Cricket Club.
