LoCaL Homes’ Coventry Housing Project has won the Residential Project of the Year Award at the Constructing Excellence Midlands, West Midlands Awards. The awards took place on Thursday 1 May at the Edgbaston Cricket Club in Birmingham.

This prestigious recognition highlights their commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable housing solutions.

The Coventry Housing Project has transformed eight former garage sites in partnership with Citizen Housing and Excelsior Land with support from Coventry City Council, providing 19 homes across the city in Whoberley, Stoke Aldermoor, Bell Green, Holbrooks and Cheylesmore.

The homes will include a mix of one- and three-bedroom houses, as well as one- and two-bedroom bungalows. They are all being constructed using timber frames manufactured in LoCaL Homes’ Walsall factory, which will then be transported to the sites in Coventry for assembly and completion by Excelsior Land Ltd.

Mike Doolan, Sales and Partnerships Manager at LoCaL Homes said: “Our team is incredibly proud of this recognition, which underscores our dedication to excellence and sustainability in housing development.

“On behalf of everyone at LoCaL Homes, I can say it’s a true privilege to be collaborating with Citizen Housing and Excelsior Land Ltd in transforming the former garage sites.

“This project is a perfect example of innovative construction and sustainable development. Our off-site manufactured Eco-200 timber frame solutions, complete with brick slips, reduce construction time on site and produce less waste when compared to traditional building methods. This brings both environmental benefits and results in quicker handovers. The future occupants will be paying, on average, lower fuel bills thanks to the thermal-efficiency of our fabric-first approach."

Congratulations to everyone involved!
