Our Swan Lane development has been recognised in the prestigious Insider’s Midlands Residential Property Awards.

The scheme, which will deliver 147 affordable homes in West Bromwich, has been shortlisted for the Social Impact Award with GSA, Morro Partnerships and Sandwell Council jointly recognised for their contributions.

The partners have been recognised for their commitment to benefiting the wider community surrounding the Swan Lane development including:

  • Providing a guided tour of the scheme to 60 learners from Ryders Green Primary School.
  • Delivering a garden transformation at our care scheme Chapter House in West Bromwich.

Reflecting on the support received from Morro Partnerships and GSA colleagues, Tina Watson, Scheme Manager at Chapter House said: “We are so grateful for the time, expertise, and resources that Morro Partnerships and our GSA colleagues have invested into the garden at Chapter House.

“There are several new customers who are keen to access the garden and with the summer nearing they are excited to grow some fruit and vegetables.

“It has given our customers something to focus on and take responsibility for.”

Once complete, the Swan Lane development will meet a variety of local housing need by providing 41 two- and 24 three-bedroom houses and 17 one- and 65 two-bedroom apartments on the site of a former gas works.

Carl Taylor, our Assistant Director of New Business, said: “We are proud to be reclaiming a contaminated former industrial site to provide much needed affordable homes for West Bromwich. As well as providing new homes, we are also creating a legacy in the wider community.

“It is a huge accomplishment for colleagues and our partners to be recognised in this influential awards scheme.”

The winners of Insider Midlands Residential Property Awards will be announced at a glitzy ceremony on 25 June at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham.

Our Swan Lane development faces stiff competition for the Social Impact Award, from the Thorn Close Regeneration Project, Wednesbury (SWG Construction, Sandwell Council) and Farnborough Road, Clifton (NCHA, Pelham Architects).
