We are supporting a youth outreach project in Didcot through our Community Impact Fund.

We have awarded TRAIN, a charity providing support and opportunities for children and young people in Didcot and Wallingford, a grant of £1000 to help establish a new youth club in West Didcot.

The funding will contribute towards venue hire, staffing costs and materials for activities at the youth club.

Ben Drabble, CEO at TRAIN said: “We are thrilled to receive this funding from GreenSquareAccord, which has helped us establish a much-needed youth club in West Didcot.

“This new club will offer a safe, welcoming space where young people can socialise, access support, and have fun. It’s a vital step towards ensuring all young people in Didcot, including those in new developments, have the opportunities they deserve to thrive.”

The donation was made through our Community Impact Fund, an initiative designed to support voluntary and community groups across our localities. The fund offers grants of up to £1,000 to projects that benefit our customers and the local communities they live in.

Sian Every, our Community Investment and Social Lead said: “We are delighted to be able to support TRAIN who have served Didcot's most marginalised young people for over twenty years.

“The grant funding, awarded through our Community Impact Fund will now help TRAIN expand their detached provision further west into the new developments in Didcot which include our new homes at Didcot Grove.

“As well as providing positive engagement for young people, an active youth work programme can bring many benefits to the wider community such as reducing the risk of anti-social behaviour.

“I look forward to hearing about the positive impact which the youth club makes.”

The new youth club, managed by TRAIN, will be located close to homes which we have provided at the Didcot Grove development and began operating in September of this year.

Working in partnership with Vistry, we have helped to meet a variety of local housing need by providing 27 homes for affordable rent and shared ownership at Didcot Grove.
