We are thrilled to announce that Anneka Spence will be joining as our new Head of Talent and Culture next month.

Anneka will her take up her new role with us on Monday 10 November, bringing more than 15 years’ experience of shaping talent, learning and culture strategies at both private and not-for-profit organisations.

At present, Anneka is employed by Scott Bader, a chemicals firm with global reach, as their Head of Talent and Culture with responsibility for talent and capability strategy across 18 international sites.

Our incoming Head of Talent & Culture will focus on shaping a people-first culture that supports both colleague engagement and our performance, and overseeing learning and development initiatives, talent management programmes, enhancing inclusive practices, and driving cultural change.

Reflecting on the application process and securing her new role at GSA, Anneka said: “My immediate priority will be to understand what’s working well, what challenges people face, and where we can strengthen our approach to talent and culture.

“I’ll be focusing on gaining insight into the colleague experience and identifying opportunities to enhance engagement and retention, including reviewing existing talent, learning and leadership programmes to ensure they align with GSA’s strategic goals. I cannot wait to get my teeth into this new challenge and look forward to meeting you all soon.”

Once in post, Anneka will report to our Director of People and Culture, Beccy Hemsley. Commenting on the appointment of our new Head of Talent and Culture, Beccy said:
