Matrix Housing Partnership Decarbonisation Project recognised at Unlock Net Zero Awards
Fusion 21; the preferred framework partner facilitating the compliant procurement of energy efficiency improvements for the The Matrix Housing Partnership, led by GSA, has been named as a finalist in the 2024 Unlock Net Zero Awards.
Fusion 21 have been shortlisted for the Supply Chain Partner of the Year award at the Unlock Net Zero Awards for their work on a decarbonisation project which has seen almost sixty of our homes, to date, retrofitted with energy efficiency upgrades.
The 2024 Unlock Net Zero Awards are hosted in partnership with the British Property Federation, and they recognise and champion progress on the journey to decarbonisation for the UK housing, built environment and property sectors together with the professional services and supply chains that support them.
The Matrix Housing Partnership is a consortium of seven social landlords including GSA, Black Country Housing Group, Citizen Housing Group, Pioneer Housing and Community Group, Rooftop Housing Association, Trent & Dove Housing and Trident Housing Association.
In March 2023, the partnership secured £12million funding from the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ); which manages the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, to make 905 homes across the Midlands and South West more energy efficient.
Funded by DESNZ, members of the Matrix Housing Partnership, led by GSA, are now delivering a variety of regeneration works including cavity wall insulation, installing new windows and doors, loft insulation, and measures to improve ventilation. The works are targeted to upgrade older homes owned by the partnership so that they have an EPC rating of at least C.
Our Director of Property, Jason Holder, said: “We’re so pleased to see Fusion 21, through their collaboration with the Matrix Housing Partnership, named as a finalist in these prestigious awards.
“Accessing Fusion21’s Decarbonisation Framework provided the Matrix Housing Partnership with the opportunity to compliantly expedite the procurement, appointing a single supply partner by direct award capable of fast mobilisation - meeting the needs of all landlords and ensuring the project is delivered within funding timescales.
“Using Fusion21 we’ve benefited from specialist team support, best practice, reduced member administration, plus maximised cost and efficiency savings, and associated economies of scale.
“On behalf of the Matrix Housing Partnership (MHP) and as lead bidder, we’re delighted with how this transformational £26.2 million regeneration scheme is progressing across the Midlands and South West with works for all seven landlords on site and starting to make a real difference to residents.”
The winners of the Unlock Net Zero Awards will be announced on Wednesday 26 June at Manchester Central as part of Housing 2024.
