We are delighted to have donated £1,000 to Community Safety Education (CSE).
The organisation specialises in financial literacy education for young people, combatting the increase of debt, poverty and gambling issues in the UK.
CSE work with young people in deprived and socially disadvantaged communities, who may be more vulnerable to predatory lending practices such as pay day loans or buy now pay later schemes. Online gambling is another risk to this demographic, who can be exposed through video games and develop behaviours that persist into adulthood.
Our £1,000 contribution will go towards CSE’s Moneywise project which engages young people in financial literacy education using contemporary content and relatable anecdotes. Specifically, it will be used in lessons at Melksham Oak Community School, where approximately 600 pupils will have access to Moneywise resources, lesson plans and worksheets.
